UI/UX Design, Concept, Creative Direction

For the development and design of UFK we worked in a team of four people and closely together with pedagogues, teachers, students and a school. UFK is a software that works with Kinect and is used during school lessons. My roles within the team were creating game & interaction ideas for the UFK-exercises, designing those exercises and co-designing the user interface. Further, I was responsible for the research about ADHD and how design and digital media can be helpful and important for this syndrome. Students who suffer from ADHD often disturb the lesson due to their attention seeking behavior. They may get loud and hyperactive, which can lead to disrupted and interrupted lessons. For them , their classmates, and the teacher it is the best solution to take action immediately. We therefore decided that the program should be used in a separate room when the students lose their concentration. After testing the program in an elementary school during regular lessons, we can say that all students who had to use the software went back to the classroom clam and concentrated. They started participating, listening, and focussing normally. Teachers and pedagogues gave us extremely positive feedback, saying the students behaved exemplary in class after using UFK.
